Unicorn Hunting

Behold, the two of the rarest forms in the R34 GT-R lines that can be driven on the streets, One being a Genuine Tommy Kaira R-Z, the other being a Genuine Nissan GTR Mines Demo Car.
Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of unique R34 GTR’s in and around Australia, but this rare? No. Uniquely modified, sure, factory fresh from Tommy Kaira or with the rich history of Mines, these two examples are as rare as they get.
Enson and Shahram are the two proud owners of these unicorns, having owned multiple incredible cars before moving to the Mines GTR for Enson and Shahram with his Tommy Kaira R-Z.

Enson’s history of vehicles is more unique than most other owners, having an S2000, DC2 R Integra, FK8R, Subaru’s, Evo’s and plenty more. When Allen from V-Spec performance offered up the Mines GTR for sale, Enson couldn’t say no, making one of his dreams a reality.

After only dreaming of owning one, he made that dream happen. Comfortable, rare, unique 300+kw beast. Featuring a twin plate clutch along with FEAL coil-overs, you may see Enson one day driving straight by you. 

The carbon green spoiler, carbon green mirrors, carbon bonnet with Mines logo across the passenger front side, you would be insane to miss this exquisite machine. Even if you miss the look, you may not miss the noise, sporting a Mines titanium exhaust attached to the stage 2+ Rb26. You can only imagine the noise it would produce.

The interior also is no shortage of Mines components. From the Mines RS full alcantara steering wheel, Titanium shifter knob, carbon inner mirror, alcantara roof replacement kit, nappa leather shifter boot, handbrake boot, leather armrest, you are wrapped in comfort and style. Not to mention the seats, Bride x Keiichi Tsuchiya Zeta III King Full Bucket seats, more then enough to hold you in place!

Being an official Mines Japan Demonstration Vehicle built and used by Mine’s themselves in Japan throughout numerous occasions, you may think it will remain in its current form? Well, you are correct, sort of, the only thing Enson is going to change would be to a larger exhaust if/when Mines release this option.  Finished in original JW0 Millennium Jade paint with Mine’s decals, this has to be the absolute poster car for Mines lovers!

Now looking at Shahram, having owned a 33 GT-R Vspec and 34 GT-R Vspec II, wanting to move to something more unique and rare. After a 12 year lapse of GT-R ownership, Shahram felt it was only right to get something a little more special.

After an 8 month search through dealerships in Japan, Specialising in GT-R’s, cue Allen from V-Spec performance selling the 1 of 11 Tommy Kaira R-Z. With prices going up and up, Shahram thought “It was now or never”.  After making an appointment to see the R-Z, looking through the cars on offer from V-Spec performance, Shahram finally laid his eyes upon the Tommy Kaira R-Z.

Flared guards and the body kit dwarfing the Mines GT-R’s also on offer. Not fully aware of the rarity of the TK R-Z, Shahram carried out some research, finding that it is more rare then the Z Tune (17 factory made Z tunes, 2 prototype models made), more powerful then a Z Tune (500hp compared to 530 from the R-Z) and the price bracket he was looking for, Shahram took home the Tommy Kaira R-Z.

It will be almost impossible to mistake this Tommy Kaira R-Z for a regular GTR. With notable exterior changes to catch your eyes, from the spoiler, moulded flares covering the Volk TE37’s, red Tommy Kaira brake callipers, it draws you for a closer look. When looking closer you will notice the differences in the side and rear diffusers, front bar and on the inside, the Tommy Kaira dashboard, digital cluster. There is no shortage of unique options.
